Route 4001 over Van Auken Creek

Project Overview

PennDOT invites the public to a public meeting and online plans display for the Route 4001, Bridge Replacement Project over Van Auken Creek in Clinton Township, Wayne County.

The bridge is located on Route 4001 between Route 296 (Belmont Turnpike) and Little Keen Road.

The proposed replacement includes a precast concrete box culvert. Work is expected to occur during the 2024 construction season.

The existing metal pipe arch bridge was built in 1962 and is posted with a 10-ton weight limit. Approximately 325 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.
