Broad Street Safety Improvements

Project Location

Overview

The Broad Street Safety Improvements Project in the City and County of Philadelphia includes safety improvements along Broad Street, (Route 611) from Allegheny Avenue to Hunting Park Avenue. The proposed Project elements include the addition of raised concrete islands to provide improved safety for pedestrians and the removal of two-way left turn lanes. Additionally, the construction of ADA ramps will be included at each raised concrete median where pedestrian access is provided, lane separator curbs will be installed, and new pavement markings at all crosswalks will be applied.

Construction is anticipated to be conducted under short-term lane closures. Local access to properties will be maintained throughout construction.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2024 and be completed by Summer 2025.
