The Pennsylvania Department of Health's (Department )Lead Surveillance Program tracks and monitors childhood lead activity through the Pennsylvania National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (PA-NEDSS).  PA-NEDSS is a web-based application system that receives all lead reports on Pennsylvania's children.  Through PA-NEDSS, the Division of Child and Adult Health Services can identify possible high-risk areas, locate areas of under-testing and identify other potential service gaps.

Reporting Blood Lead Level Results for Children

The results of all blood lead levels tests for children under age 16 are required to be reported to the Department. Reports are to be made through the PA-NEDSS. For states who have blood lead level results for Pennsylvania residents that do not have access to PA-NEDSS please submit results using one of the methods below.

Adult Lead Exposure

The Division of Environmental Health Epidemiology (DEHE) at the PA DOH has developed an interactive dashboard for the ABLES program to display public health data pertaining to adult workers who are exposed to lead in Pennsylvania. The ABLES Dashboard serves as a tool to monitor industries and demographic populations where adult lead exposure is high. ​​
