The Bureau of Policy, Analysis and Planning is responsible for the policy and program development for all inpatient, outpatient and ancillary Medical Assistance services in both the fee-for-service and managed care delivery systems, as well as managing the functions of planning, data analysis for the Office of Medical Assistance Programs (OMAP).
Planning, Evaluation and Analysis
- Develops cost impact analysis of policy and proposed legislation
- Analyzes and reports program data
- Develops waivers for mandatory managed care and home and community based services
- Maintains OMAP Statistical Report
Regulatory and Program Development
- Maintains Pennsylvania's State Plan
- Develops and recommends program policy
- Develops and promulgates regulations
- Acts as a liaison with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); and intra-departmental and inter-governmental offices
- Analyzes legislation
- Coordinates the Medical Assistance Advisory Committee (MAAC)
