Language Services Overview
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is committed to ensuring all individuals needing language services have language access services to access the benefits and services provided by the DHS.
DHS’ Bureau of Equal Opportunity is responsible for ensuring compliance of DHS licensed entities to provide meaningful access to language access services to recipients of benefits or services.
DHS offers interpretation and translation services in various languages at no cost to you. These services, including translation and telephonic interpretation, are available through our trusted language service providers.
Language assistance will be provided free of charge. Customers requesting limited English proficiency (LEP) assistance may need to do so in advance of any public event or meeting implemented by the DHS.
Individuals in need of language services should contact the phone listed for translation services on the mail received from the Department of Human Services. If you are unable to find that phone number, contact the Bureau of Equal Opportunity. We can help connect you to language access services for the program that you need.
