Transportation Equipment Operators
Have a Class A or B Commercial Driver License and want to use your skills locally as an operator to keep your community safe? PennDOT's operators are part of highway maintenance crews, performing a variety of manual laboring duties and operating equipment used for construction and maintenance work. Operators will plow snow, make minor repairs to equipment, and provide preventive maintenance for the trucks and equipment, in addition to other duties.
Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanics
Keeping PennDOT's equipment running at optimum performance is the responsibility of the diesel and construction equipment mechanics. Diesel mechanics perform repairs and maintenance on various pieces of PennDOT equipment and diesel-powered vehicles, including heavy trucks, graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, trucks, automobiles, and hand tools.
