    About the Bureau of Audits

    The Bureau of Audits is ...

    the Commonwealth’s primary internal audit organization, serving all agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction.  Services offered by the bureau include

    • agreed-upon procedure engagements, 
    • management control evaluations, 
    • risk assessments, 
    • information technology and system development reviews, 
    • assistance with Commonwealth GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and Single Audit, and 
    • fraud education for agencies.  

    We utilize a risk-based approach, including data analytics, to expand our audit coverage and provide value-added services to agencies across the Commonwealth.
