STATE FISH HATCHERY

Originally constructed in 1952, the Benner Spring State Fish Hatchery is situated on 40 developed acres (49 total acres) of land leased from the Rockview State Correctional Institution.

The facility consists of exterior concrete raceways, production ponds, a warming pond, and a hatchery building that contains concrete and fiberglass interior raceways, Heath tray, jar, and Buchner jar incubators. Water supply to the facility is from Benner Spring, 2 production wells, and Spring Creek.

The site also serves as headquarters for the Commission's Division of Production Services.
