MAUCH CHUNK LAKE

Located in Carbon County, Mauch Chunk Lake is a 330-acre impoundment within Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Carbon County. In addition to fishing and boating opportunities, the park has swimming, camping and picnic areas available..

FISHING

Mauch Chunk Lake offers a variety of warmwater fishing opportunities and is managed under Big Bass Program regulations. Commonwealth Inland Waters regulations apply for all other species of fish.

The Commission historically has stocked the lake with Walleye fingerling.

A fully accessible fishing pier is located at the lake.

Fish habitat structures have been placed in the lake (view PDF map) over the years as part of the Commission's Fish Habitat Improvement Program.

BOATING

Boating is limited to boats powered by electric motors and un-powered boats. Two launch ramps are available along with associated parking facilities.

Un-powered boats may be moored at the lake in accordance with Commission property regulations. To be used at the lake, boats must be registered or have a valid launch permit (permits are issued by the Commission or PA Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources).
