    School and Instructors Program

    All vehicle inspectors must be approved by a PennDOT-certified program at a contracted school.

    Overview

    Pennsylvania requires safety and emissions inspectors to be certified through a PennDOT approved program at a school under contract with the Department with Instructors in good standing who have been trained by the same. The process involves both classroom training and examinations.
